Almond butter and maple make a chewy blondie with no refined sugar. Toasted pecans on top, and they are paleo too.

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8-inch square pan.
  2. Stir the almond butter, maple, egg and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Mix in the almond flour, baking soda and salt.
  4. Fold in most of the pecans and spread in the pan. Scatter the rest on top.
  5. Bake for 22 to 25 minutes, until golden and just set in the middle.
  6. Cool completely, then cut into squares.
